Abstract. This study investigates the impact of institutional quality as measured by the corruption perception index, income, CO2 emissions, and trade openness on renewable energy consumption in Poland from 1996 to 2021. The Canonical Cointegrating Regression (CCR) technique was employed for empirical analysis. The analysis results revealed that the corruption perception index, income, and CO2 emissions have a positive and statistically significant effect on renewable energy consumption, while trade openness has an insignificant impact. The positive influence of institutional quality on renewable energy consumption highlights the significance of implementing policies that contribute to environmental sustainability and energy security. |
